Most thin-client OS decisions come down to a hardware question: buy new endpoints, or make the existing estate work harder. Rangee’s answer is the second option. RangeeOS is a hardened Linux base that runs from a USB stick or SATA drive on virtually any x86 hardware — converting office PCs, repurposed laptops or bare-metal devices into managed, secure thin clients without touching the native OS already installed.
The OS is read-only by design: no local writes, no malware persistence, no session state left behind between users. On first boot, a device announces itself to TCMS — the Thin Client Management Server — is auto-assigned to a group based on its MAC address or IP range, and receives its full configuration without any manual setup. That zero-touch onboarding model scales from a 20-seat pilot to a multi-site enterprise estate without proportional IT overhead.
TCMS is a web-based management appliance that runs as a VM on any hypervisor. From a single console, administrators image devices, push firmware and software updates, apply group policies with multi-dimensional inheritance, schedule time-controlled actions (reboot, lock, update outside business hours), and monitor endpoint health across all sites. For GCC organisations with offices across the UAE, KSA and the wider region, TCMS eliminates the need for local IT presence at each branch: a new device plugged in anywhere in the network is automatically discovered, configured and production-ready.
RangeeOS supports all major delivery protocols — RDP, Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix ICA/HDX, VMware Horizon/Omnissa, web workspaces, and common VPN clients. Profiles can be locked to a single broker for kiosk and shared-terminal deployments, or presented as a multi-protocol launch pad for knowledge workers.
